Day 27
Red Dry
Origin: Kalomodia, Arta
Varietal composition: 80% Merlot - Cabernet Franc
Vineyard: The privately owned vineyards of the Merkouri Estate, in Korakochori, Ilia, in the Western Peloponnese
Winemaking: Classic red winemaking with selected yeasts and temperature control. Maturation period: 12 months in French oak barrels
Characteristics: Although still very fresh, it is certainly among the best Bordeaux blends that have been produced in our country. Dense, purple in color. Its bouquet is amazing for its age, but it promises great things for those who have the patience to keep it for a few years in their cellar. Ripe stone cherry, blackberry, fresh and dried plum, chocolate, tobacco, leather and earthy notes of graphite and ink make up the main part of the multidimensional nose. Velvety tannins and a lot of fruit in the mouth.
Food pairings: Grilled meats, moderately fatty cuts, cooked game, mature cheeses
Alcohol content: 14.0 % vol.
