Cuvee Gerontampelo began with a vision of a robust and structured Assyrtiko with the necessary elegance added by French oak barrels. A carefully crafted wine that conveys all the essence of "Gerontabelo", which means "old vine" in the local dialect of Santorini. With this special bottling we celebrate the uniqueness of our place as well as the inherent wisdom of our oldest vineyards.
The first bottled vintage is in 2020.
The grapes are carefully selected from our oldest vineyards in Pyrgos, Megalochori and Episkopi. This special wine pushes the Santorini terroir to the extreme and is the culmination of the synergy between the vine, the grower, the winemaker and the Santorini tradition. A wine of imposing proportions, power and unparalleled elegance.
It needs several years of aging to mature and unfold its rich character and reveal its rare complexity.
